Title: Senior Associate
Duties: Supporting the Company’s healthcare investment candidates as an integral member of the investment team; Leading and coordinating due diligence process, related to financial metrics and industry specifics (manufacturing, reimbursement, R&D, etc.), to examine potential investment candidates; Managing and coordinating co-investors, attorneys, accountants, technical consultants, lenders, and other service providers; Taking ownership of financial analyses and Excel-based financial modeling to analyze existing and potential investments; Developing investment thesis and drafting internal and external memos; Presenting investment merits and considerations to investment committee; Creating, analyzing and calculating investment returns based on various transaction structures, supported by quantitative analysis; Gathering market data, financial metrics and information from a variety of sources and synthesizing and summarizing the data and information to arrive at a cohesive and logical conclusion on behalf of the investment team; Drafting internal and external communications for Limited Partners relating the status of existing investments and to raise funds for potential new investments; Interacting with portfolio companies’ senior management teams; monitoring performance and reporting internally on regular basis; and developing business relationships and identifying potential opportunities through unsolicited outreach to emerging businesses within sectors of interest.
Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
Experience: A combined 3 years of healthcare investment banking and healthcare investing experience. Specifically, 2.5 years of experience must include healthcare investment banking in healthcare subsectors (generic and branded pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics & tools); executing transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and equity offerings; utilizing Excel to perform financial modeling, including discounted cash flow analysis, sum-of-parts analysis, leverage buyout analysis and investment returns analysis; and utilizing Capital IQ, Thompson One, IMS and Salesforce. 6 months of experience must include healthcare buy-side investing.
Other: Position requires not more than 20% domestic and international travel, dependent on projects
